Meet River and Stratus - sweet, sweet sisters who will need to be adopted together. Read on for their story:
In June of 2024, many people were experiencing flooding in their homes and over the roads they were traveling. During that time we had fosters struggling with flooding in their basements while another foster was scrambling to rescue a litter of kittens.
A frantic call came in that a farmer had a litter of kittens up in a tractor bucket. He was trying to save the kittens after their mom was swept away in the flood waters. They were right around 4-5 weeks old, and our foster knew the kittens were in a dangerous situation. Thankfully they were able to get the kittens from the tractor bucket and to a safe place. When the kittens arrived at ACR they were extremely sick. After being in flood waters, intaking dirty water, they had serious upper respiratory infections, and we knew the road to recovery would be long.
Our fosters networked together and the litter was split between two fosters. Sadly, a couple of the kittens passed away, and the others fought hard for months. Thanks to our amazing vets and loving fosters, River and Stratus made a full recovery.
We now have two very special and bonded girls looking for their forever homes. The girls have taken on the nick name “the twins” and have their own little love language. The girls don’t just meow but have the cutest chirping noises to communicate with each other and their foster family. It’s the cutest thing!
The girls are both very sweet and playful. They love to snuggle with each other but also love to snuggle with their foster family. They love other cats and all sorts of cat toys.
These little sweethearts are looking for a forever home where they will be spoiled and treated like part of the family!
