My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Latimer! https://youtu.be/5Sj3IWmYqcs

Latimer aka Vlad is 14 months old, male (approx. 11-12-23), 52 lbs., vetted, is or will be neutered, and micro-chipped. He was on his last morning in this world when we pulled him to safety! Vlad did well with other dogs in the play yard, may be good with cats (all cat and dog relationships are different), knows Sit, has medium+ energy, and is a playful fun boy! His favorites are: tennis balls, tug toys, and plush squeaky toys! Vlad is a quirky and enthusiastic dog who loves treats (great for training), and making you laugh. Whether he's shaking a tug rope or jumping on a tennis ball, he's all about fun and games. Though a little wild at times, his affection and comedic charm make him an unforgettable companion. If you're looking for a loving, energetic buddy who brings joy and laughter, Latimer is the one for you

Update from Vlad's P4P Champion: "I have the privilege of working with Latimer as his “ champion” Latimer is another deserving dog in boarding who is looking for his “ furever” home or even a foster to bust him out of boarding!

He is one of the friendliest dogs i have EVER met! He gives the best ( an possibly the most ) kisses! He wants to be in your lap whenever the opportunity comes around! Ladimer and I are working on rewarding CALM behavior as he is very excited to be out an bouncing around! He knows basic commands and is extremely food motivated! The stunning hunk of a boy is two years old and weighs in at around 45-50 lbs! He walks alright on a leash but pulls a little ( expected when stuck in boarding) I pulled him out of boarding for a day to give him a break from the chaos, he had zoomies for about an hour he was so exited to be in a home! We played tug of war/fetch until he passed out on the doggie bed." Stay tuned for more information as Latimer is a new rescue!

Disclosure:   Breed labels are often incorrect: we rarely know the genetic lineage of the dogs we rescue.  Many shelters and rescues specify breeds based on appearance; however, research has shown that less than 2% of a dog’s DNA determines appearance!   Passion 4 Paws does not practice the use of labels pertaining to compatibility with others or dog breed.  Labels such as “dog friendly” and “child friendly” should be used with caution as they often over-simplify the personalities and behavior of dogs.

More about this rescue

Passion 4 Paws is an animal rescue organization founded by Robin Shover of Shelburne, Vermont. Robin has invested many years learning best practices to rescue dogs primarily from death row at high kill shelters. Robin works very closely with Potters Angels Rescue out of Randolph, Vermont and decided the most effective way to save even more dogs is to continue working closely with PAR plus her own new entity in Chittenden County and surrounding areas. Many people who personally know Robin realize her "passion" and dedication to the dogs. P4Ps rescues dogs from high kill shelters, provides a safe environment with foster families and adopters, education for the community, and advocacy for animal rights. Our group will be staffed entirely by volunteers and will be served by a Board of Directors. Our efforts will be supported through donations, charity events, Corporate/Employee Benefit tax deductible donation programs, and the generosity of animal lovers from within the community. Our focus is on dog rescue only. All funds received will be used strictly for this purpose and will incorporate medical bills, transport fees, food and other items for the dogs, shelter fees, charity events, boarding, and training.
