My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

FOSTERED IN: Evergreen Park, 60805
ESTIMATED DOB: 5/30/2019
COLOR/BREED: Tabby Shorthair
KIDS: Older
DOGS: No
CATS: No

HISTORY:
Josie’s former adopter surrendered Josie back into our care due to a terminal illness.

ABOUT:
Josie is Chatty, Independent, Affectionate, and Silly. Her foster said she is generally an independent cat, but she will let you know when she would appreciate some attention by meowing and rubbing on your legs and enjoys a good cuddle from time to time.

Like the rest of us, Josie enjoys screen time and she is currently hooked on CatTV on YouTube. Josie isn’t a huge fan of cat toys, but she does love a good string or cord on occasion. When she’s done watching her programs, she enjoys taking long naps on soft blankets.

Josie’s foster said she is, surprisingly, not a fan of tube treats, but loves individual treats like temptations. Josie also has no interest in wet food, a convenience bonus for her future adopter! Josie does love meal time and will meow if she hears you get up in the morning to remind you about the food bowl. Her foster said she has an especially sassy meow at meal times...if you’ve ever been hangry, you understand.

Josie was originally adopted into a home with a pre-teen and teenager and she did well in that home. Her foster said she is very friendly and they also expect she would do fine with older children. She might choose to remove herself from any situation where children were too hands-on with her as she prefers not to be picked up. Josie’s current foster home has a dog, and Josie startles when she hears the dog bark and has shown no curiosity or interest in meeting him so a home with no dogs would be best for her.

Josie’s foster home thinks she would do best in a quiet home. She does love attention, but isn’t terribly needy so she would prefer adopters who have similar needs of her.

We were told by Josie’s previous owner that she would go outside the litter box at times, since she was returned to us in November Josie has not had any accidents in two different foster homes. We feel that stress was a component of her issues in the past and that she would do best in a home as an only cat, as that has been a consistent component across her new living situations. Josie must also strictly be kept as an indoor only cat.

If you think Josie sounds like the perfect fit to your home, you can find our adoption application and more information on our website: www.luluslockerrescue.org.
