My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Stella! This bright, outgoing girl has so much love and talent to offer. She’s incredibly sweet, fully housetrained, and impressively smart — she knows more than basic commands and can even walk confidently on a treadmill! Stella loves enrichment activities and would make a fantastic working dog or adventure companion for someone who enjoys keeping a clever pup engaged.
Stella gets along well with other dogs and enjoys having friends, though any home with an existing pet will need slow introductions and a few meet-and-greets to make sure everyone is a good match. Once Stella knows her people, she becomes deeply loyal and protective, so she’ll thrive best in an adult-only home with someone who understands and appreciates her guardian nature.
Playful and energetic, she’s always ready for walks, training sessions, and mental challenges. With the right structure and guidance, Stella will blossom into an incredible partner who gives her whole heart to her person.
Her adoption fee includes her spay, vaccines, microchip, and additional treatments. If you’re looking for a smart, devoted dog who’s eager to learn and bond deeply, Stella might be the perfect fit — come meet her and see what a special girl she is!

More about this shelter

The mission of the Animal Rescue League of Marshalltown is to provide a safe haven for lost, homeless, and abused companion animals; to help reunite lost companion animals with their family; to find new homes for adoptable and abandoned animals; and to aid in strengthening the human to animal bond.

It is the dream of the Animal Rescue League of Marshalltown to have a community where no companion animal is left to starve and fend for itself; and where companion animals have a comfortable and loving place to life until a permanent home can be found.
