My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Lyla 🌸

Lyla is a young cat with a gentle heart and an independent spirit. She was found outside on her own and, at first, didn’t trust people—but with patience and care, she has blossomed into a very sweet girl. Lyla enjoys affection on her own terms and is learning every day that humans can be kind and safe.

She is quite independent and prefers not to be held, sometimes getting startled without warning, so she’ll do best with adopters who understand and respect feline boundaries. Lyla needs a cat-savvy home where her people will accept her exactly as she is and give her the time and space to blossom at her own pace.

What Lyla truly loves is other animals—she adores her resident cat friends and would thrive in a home with another friendly cat to keep her company and help her feel confident. Having a feline playmate isn’t just a bonus for Lyla, it’s something she truly needs.
With a calm, understanding home and a feline companion by her side, Lyla will be a rewarding and special addition to the right family. 🐾

More about this rescue

Camp Companion is a 501c3 organization established in 2003.

Based in Rochester MN, the organization is totally driven by volunteers.

Camp Companion is dedicated to providing low-cost spay and neuter services for feral, farm and stray companion animals. The organization is funded solely by donations, fundraisers, grants, and adoption fees. All funds we receive are used for veterinary expenses and the cost of care incurred for the animals waiting for their forever homes.

Through our spay / neuter efforts, we encounter kittens and stray domestic cats that need rescue services and a forever home. We have no shelter, but rely on foster homes to care for these rescued pets. Every animal we offer for adoption is spayed or neutered.
