My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Boone has been a long-time resident of HSMC.  Found as a stray back in 2016, Boone had his problems adjusting to shelter life.  In time, he overcame some behavior hurtles and eventually was able to be placed in a foster home.  He was with his foster for 11/2 years but sadly finds himself back at the shelter.  Boone is a sweet boy.  He does have a mind of his own so will need an owner who will give him love and affection but most importantly set boundaries for him as he acclimates to his new home.  He is neutered and up to date with his shots.  He loves car rides and hanging out in the yard with his human.  If you have further questions about how you can help this nice guy, please contact us here at the shelter.

Additional adoption info

We require an adoption application be filled out (can be done online or in person). Allow 3 business days to process. Contact the shelter to check on status of application if you do not hear from us in 3 days. Upon approval, fees are $85 for a cat and $150-$250 for a dog. This includes vaccinations and altering. Renters need to demonstrate approval of landlord to have pets. Home visit may be done at the discretion of the shelter. Our adoption contract specifies adopters must comply with local animal ordinances and have current pets neutered if not already done. Animals must be returned to us if owner is no longer able to care for them

More about this shelter

We are a private non-profit limited intake no kill shelter that has been serving the county since 1978. We try to take in and care for as many animals as our small shelter can handle. We are an adoption center and not to be confused with Animal Control. We cannot pick up stray animals, that has to be done by the county. Thank you and we look forward to adopting out to you!
