Cora is a deaf cattle dog mix, aged 3-5, currently fostered. She is loyal and affectionate, preferring to lounge beside people and excels at running or hiking on trails. Food-motivated and attentive without distractions, she knows basic commands and is learning more. Indoors, she is mostly well-behaved; however, she can be reactive to guests, and she is not a fan of ceiling fans. Outside she can be reactive to cars, people gathering and moving objects —her fosters have made progress, though she may regress in new environments. Cora is best managed on leash with guests and potentially a muzzle as she can be reactive. She crates easily but barks when left alone or when guests visit, so she relaxes better in a bedroom. She has lived with other dogs successfully, especially heelers, but does fine as an only dog. A cat-free, adult-only home is recommended, as she chases cats. She has not interacted with small children but with any special needs animal caution would be required.

We are foster based, but hold adoption events in various Pet Stores in the Greater Phoenix Area.
We can also do individual meet and greet for any of our dogs with an appointment with the foster.

Here at Arf-Anage Dog Rescue, our motto is "No Mom Left Behind". We specialize in moms and pups from local shelters as well as the Navajo reservation. When fosters are available, we also help with puppies that are owner-surrendered, "accidental" litters, or the last of a litter that someone just "couldn't get rid of".
Once our Mama dogs are done raising their pups, they are given time to recover then spayed, rehabbed, and made ready for forever families.
Puppies are vaccinated, spayed/neutered, and microchipped. We orient them into a foster-home environment and begin potty training and socialization. We find them great forever homes and in case it doesn't work out, we take the dogs back and find them another loving home. We offer 80% refunds on adoption fees up to 5 days after the adoption.
In some situations, we also offer assistance to help find free or reasonable spay and neuter services for owned pets.
