Meet Lilo — a 3-year-old Beagle/Hound mix with a big heart and a brave spirit looking for her second chance. Lilo’s had a tough time finding her place, but this sweet girl is ready for a home that understands her, believes in her, and will help her continue to grow into the loving companion we know she can be.
About Lilo Lilo is a tender, sensitive pup who bonds deeply with her people. She can be timid in new places and nervous in the home at first, especially around strangers. In her previous home she displayed protective and territorial behavior, as well as some separation anxiety and fear-based reactivity toward unfamiliar visitors. While she has nipped before, she has never broken skin. Once Lilo knows you’re safe, she relaxes, opens up, and her silly, playful self comes out. During intake, Lilo was fearful and tried to slip out of her harness, but after a bit she recognized where she was and greeted her person with wiggles and bouncy energy. She didn’t take treats but happily played with one—classic Lilo.
What She’s Good At Friendly with cats Does well with older children (preteen+) Good with other dogs and may thrive with a confident canine sibling to help her feel secure Smart and affectionate once comfortable Loves open space and would do amazing on a quiet property with room to roam
What She Needs Help With Lilo struggled with younger children (approx. 4 years old) in her previous home and even attempted to escape her crate when they were around. For this reason, she will need a home without young kids. She is also an escape artist, so she cannot be left unattended in a yard and will bolt through open doors—she’ll need a family committed to structure and safety.
The Right Home for Lilo Lilo would shine in a calm, predictable home with adults or older teens, especially one with more land or a quiet environment. Someone patient, dog-savvy, and ready to help her build confidence will absolutely win her heart.
Included With Adoption Fully vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped Heartworm positive — full treatment covered by us Free vet visits, prevention, food, and ongoing training support Lilo doesn’t need perfection — she needs patience, safety, and someone who sees the timid little heart behind her big feelings. If you think you might be her person, she’s ready to love her forever family with everything she’s got.
