My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Playful, Snuggly, Companion Cat

After settling into his foster home, Drake discovered his inner kitten and never looked back. This boy is bright, playful, and full of personality! When Drake arrived at APA!, he was dealing with a painful mouth. After dental surgery, his pain was finally resolved, and the difference is night and day.

Drake has been so much happier since his surgery. Before, he would run and hide if you rolled a tiny ball toward him. Now, he plays with every toy he can get his paws on, and while he still enjoys plenty of naps, he can also happily entertain himself for hours.

With his foster family home most of the day, he spends his time moving between laps for snuggles, solo play sessions, and naps on the back of the couch (or anywhere near his people!). He’s never far away, day or night, and often snuggles in bed with them or settles into a nearby chair overnight. When guests come over, he’s friendly and curious, happy to observe at first and then hang out once everyone’s settled.

He enjoys interactive play with wands and laser toys, but his everyday favorites are a ball-in-track toy and a bungee mouse. Zoomies are a regular part of life. He’d be thrilled in a home with wall-mounted cat shelves, tracks, tall cat trees, or even a cat wheel. He’s a total wannabe parkour cat. At 12, he acts more like he’s 2 and is endlessly entertaining.

Drake is calm, confident, and adaptable around other animals. He is polite and respectful with low-energy adult and senior dogs, curious at first, then completely comfortable within a day or two. He even got used to a lively puppy! If a dog is already enjoying a lap, Drake will happily hop up and join in, sometimes even stretching out right on top of them.

Drake truly wants to be part of your everyday life. He’d thrive in a home where he can share space, snuggles, and playtime with his people, and ideally a furry friend, too. If you’re looking for a loving companion with a youthful spirit, Drake may be your perfect match. Reach out to meet him today!

All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
