NEW YEAR, NEW ME!

Jasmine's goal for 2026 is to find a family of her very own! She spent most of 2025 in our shelter and was quite shy for a good bit of her stay. Several of our volunteers dedicated extra time to Jasmine and she has really let her loving personality shine! She now greets many of us when we enter her room and looks at you, hoping for affection. She lives with other kitties and can often be found catnapping with one of her roomies. We are so proud of all the progress this Brave girl has made! We are confident this girl is ready to pack her bags and head HOME!!

All PAWS cats and dogs are current on the vaccinations appropriate for their age. Those who are confirmed over 4 months old or older will have their rabies vaccinations. Age permitting, dogs/puppies are tested for heartworm disease. Cats/kittens are tested (and are negative) for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) and Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV). All are treated with flea/tick prevention and given internal parasite preventative on a regular basis. All are microchipped (for their safety and the adopter's peace of mind) as part of the adoption fee.

To adopt an animal from the Hertford County Animal Shelter please complete and submit the online adoption application. An adoption counselor will get in touch with you after the application is received. The adoption process includes:
completing an Adoption Application and Contract,
participating in a pre-adoption screening to make sure that the match is a good fit for both your family and the pet,
presenting your photo ID (adopters must be 21 years old or older), and
paying the adoption fee. The adoption fee includes spaying/neutering and vaccinations appropriate for the animal's age.
