My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I was born in Lili's Aunt's garage and was rescued, along with my siblings, from a life on the streets. I was the first of my siblings to demand cuddles. I still like cuddles, but not as much as my bonded sister Monica (KRLA-A-7196). I love chasing my sister around the house, playing with my toys, chewing on cardboard boxes after lounging in them, and eating food my sister turns her nose up at. I'm not a picky eater and have a healthy appetite. When it's time for cuddles I like to crawl on a lap, and curl up and nap. If I see you working at a desk I will ask to be lifted up into your arms and be held like a baby being burped while you scratch my head. Don't try to put me down before I'm ready, though. I'll jump down when I've had enough. I'm very playful and like to bat at just about anything that moves, even your hands and feet. I'm not at all aggressive though, just playful. I don't mean to scratch but sometimes that happens while I'm playing. I will feel bad if you yelp if I accidentally scratch you.

We adopt animals to homes in the Los Angeles area and neighboring counties.

To help ensure that we place our cats in loving, responsible, committed homes, we have a screening process before you can adopt a pet from Kitten Rescue. We reserve the right to turn down potential adopters as we deem necessary. First, we ask that you complete our Adoption Questionnaire at kittenrescue.org/cat-adoption-form/. You can complete the form online or you may stop by a weekly adoption event to complete form in person. Second, a home visit or a home delivery of the cat or kitten is also required as part of our adoption process.

The Kitten Rescue adoption fee is $150 for a kitten or cat up to 10 years old, and $100 for each additional kitten or cat to the same household ($250 if you adopt a pair). Cats above 10 years old have a fee reduction of 50%, for an adoption fee of $75 each.

All of our cats have already been:
Spayed or neutered
Vaccinated – with at least one FVRCP vaccination
Treated for fleas
Dewormed
Tested for FeLV (Feline Leukemia) and FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus)
Microchipped

Kitten Rescue is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization devoted to finding loving homes for unwanted, homeless cats and kittens. We rescue cats and kittens from the streets of Los Angeles and from City Shelter euthanasia. Since our start in 1997, we have grown into one of the largest, most well-respected animal welfare groups in LA.

Kitten Rescue volunteers adopt out over 2,000 cats and kittens into homes every year. We educate the public about responsible pet guardianship, how to care for kittens and cats, and the importance of spaying and neutering. Kitten Rescue makes educational material available via events, print, school presentations and here on our website. We also provide Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) assistance for communities in and around Los Angeles, and teach people how to manage and care for feral cat colonies.
