My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you're a homebody who prefers the company of cats over people Citron is your soul cat. This guy is super handsome with a sleek black coat adorned with charming white patches. You'll be delighted every time you look at him. He's just not that fond of people right now so he's looking for a home with someone who understands exactly what he needs; patience and understanding. Citron has the potential to blossom into a loving companion especially if given time to acclimate in a smaller space and decompress on his own terms. Citron is an ideal match for an experienced cat person who can provide the patience calm environment and care he needs to flourish. Although he has reservations toward people Citron adores the company of other cats making him a cute and playful addition to a home with another cat of similar age and energy. You'll love seeing his playful and endearing nature when interacting with fellow felines making him a wonderful companion for a cat-savvy household. If you're looking for a handsome cat who appreciates the company of his furry friends and are willing to give him the time and space he needs to thrive Citron is eagerly waiting for a loving home where he can be himself.

Additional adoption info

We adopt animals to homes in the Los Angeles area and neighboring counties.

To help ensure that we place our cats in loving, responsible, committed homes, we have a screening process before you can adopt a pet from Kitten Rescue. We reserve the right to turn down potential adopters as we deem necessary. First, we ask that you complete our Adoption Questionnaire at kittenrescue.org/cat-adoption-form/. You can complete the form online or you may stop by a weekly adoption event to complete form in person. Second, a home visit or a home delivery of the cat or kitten is also required as part of our adoption process.

The Kitten Rescue adoption fee is $150 for a kitten or cat up to 10 years old, and $100 for each additional kitten or cat to the same household ($250 if you adopt a pair). Cats above 10 years old have a fee reduction of 50%, for an adoption fee of $75 each.

All of our cats have already been:
Spayed or neutered
Vaccinated – with at least one FVRCP vaccination
Treated for fleas
Dewormed
Tested for FeLV (Feline Leukemia) and FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus)
Microchipped

More about this rescue

Kitten Rescue is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization devoted to finding loving homes for unwanted, homeless cats and kittens. We rescue cats and kittens from the streets of Los Angeles and from City Shelter euthanasia. Since our start in 1997, we have grown into one of the largest, most well-respected animal welfare groups in LA.

Kitten Rescue volunteers adopt out over 2,000 cats and kittens into homes every year. We educate the public about responsible pet guardianship, how to care for kittens and cats, and the importance of spaying and neutering. Kitten Rescue makes educational material available via events, print, school presentations and here on our website. We also provide Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) assistance for communities in and around Los Angeles, and teach people how to manage and care for feral cat colonies.
