My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Are you looking for the purrrfect companion? Meet Baxter, the coolest cat on the block! Baxter is sweet as can be, social, playful, silly and, as you can see, absolutely stunning! But, I have to warn you, he can be rather demanding! First, he demands to be the only cat in the house! If he is going to have to share you with anyone, it can be a cat-friendly dog but that is the only concession he is willing to make! Next, if you are going to carry him, he absolutely insists on being carried like a baby. At the same time, you have to give him kisses all over and sing the "Baby Baxter" song, which I will gladly teach you! In return, you will get the most magical purrs and see a little smile on his face that tells you he is in absolute heaven. Baxter also insists on following you around the house, whether it's to the bathroom, bedroom or kitchen and he always has a look on his face as if to say "What are you up to? I'd love to come along!" His morning chirping is the most adorable sound that will, no doubt, put a smile on your face at the start of every day. He loves to play, run around in the catio and gets the cutest zoomies but don't worry, he will let you sleep in peace and will curl up somewhere cozy nearby! Anyone that gets to call Baxter's theirs will be the absolute luckiest person in the world! Are you the forever home that Baxter has been waiting for??? Email Janice@kittenrescue.org

Additional adoption info

We adopt animals to homes in the Los Angeles area and neighboring counties.

To help ensure that we place our cats in loving, responsible, committed homes, we have a screening process before you can adopt a pet from Kitten Rescue. We reserve the right to turn down potential adopters as we deem necessary. First, we ask that you complete our Adoption Questionnaire at kittenrescue.org/cat-adoption-form/. You can complete the form online or you may stop by a weekly adoption event to complete form in person. Second, a home visit or a home delivery of the cat or kitten is also required as part of our adoption process.

The Kitten Rescue adoption fee is $150 for a kitten or cat up to 10 years old, and $100 for each additional kitten or cat to the same household ($250 if you adopt a pair). Cats above 10 years old have a fee reduction of 50%, for an adoption fee of $75 each.

All of our cats have already been:
Spayed or neutered
Vaccinated – with at least one FVRCP vaccination
Treated for fleas
Dewormed
Tested for FeLV (Feline Leukemia) and FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus)
Microchipped

More about this rescue

Kitten Rescue is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization devoted to finding loving homes for unwanted, homeless cats and kittens. We rescue cats and kittens from the streets of Los Angeles and from City Shelter euthanasia. Since our start in 1997, we have grown into one of the largest, most well-respected animal welfare groups in LA.

Kitten Rescue volunteers adopt out over 2,000 cats and kittens into homes every year. We educate the public about responsible pet guardianship, how to care for kittens and cats, and the importance of spaying and neutering. Kitten Rescue makes educational material available via events, print, school presentations and here on our website. We also provide Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) assistance for communities in and around Los Angeles, and teach people how to manage and care for feral cat colonies.
