My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This handsome gentleman is Cappy!

Cappy is an approximately 15-month old male Boxer/Pit Bull mix who weighs around 55 lbs. He was rescued as a stray off the streets of OKC.

Cappy is such a happy, friendly and playful dog! He doesn't know a stranger. He loves to throw his toys up in the air and play with them. Cappy adores people so he would probably be fine with kids.

Cappy would love a home where is included in activities, given plenty of exercise, and attention. He needs a securely fenced back yard and requires a home check.

He seems to like other dogs but does play a bit rough and can come on a bit strong to other dogs. He needs to meet all the dogs in the home prior to adoption. Cappy is in boarding and plays with higher energy dogs there.

Since he is in boarding, he qualifies as foster-to-adopt or just as a foster dog.

He seems okay in a crate, we don't know if he is house-trained since he is in boarding. He is good on a leash with a harness!

Cappy is neutered, current on vaccines, on heartworm preventative, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $225

Additional adoption info

Every dog that is rescued by Forever Yours is checked by a veterinarian, vaccinated, spay/neutered, dewormed, heartworm/ehrlichia tested and treated if needed, and microchipped. We also treat any other illnesses or issues that the dog may have on intake.

We require an adoption application (FYDRadopt.com), a house check, and our adoption fee is $225.00.

If available, you will get an opportunity to talk to your chosen pet's foster family when you meet your potential new family member. This will enable you to ask any questions and learn all about your pet.

Forever Yours Dog Rescue does not have a facility, all of our wonderful rescues are in foster homes with families that take care of them and love them until their forever homes come along.

More about this rescue

Forever Yours Dog Rescue was founded on November 8th, 2011, with the mission of helping smaller animal shelters located throughout Oklahoma.

We are an Oklahoma City based all-breed 501(c) dog rescue, caring for the unwanted, abandoned, and abused dogs of Oklahoma. We rescue from local shelters and shelters throughout Oklahoma. We do take owner surrender's under certain situations.

We advocate spay/neuter and offer assistance in finding a low-cost option for those that qualify.

We promote adoption as an alternative to buying your pet.
We provide pet ownership education through materials, counceling, and on-site workshops, at no cost to the public, with an emphasis on preventative care.

We are all volunteer based, with no paid employees.
Please support us in our mission to attain a time in Oklahoma when there are homes for all adoptable pets by donating at www.foreveryoursokc.org/donate.
