Meet Jasper, a 3-year-old, 31-pound Beagle mix who’s equal parts handsome, sweet, and sniff-obsessed. 🐶👃

In true Beagle fashion, Jasper’s nose runs the show — once he’s on a walk, that sniffer is glued to the ground, tracking every fascinating scent like he’s solving a mystery. He’s a polite houseguest too: totally housebroken unless his human misses his “hey-I-gotta-go” cue. (We’re calling that a human error, not a Jasper problem.)

At home, Jasper is a gentle soul — a little anxious at first, but once he settles in, he’s happy to quietly keep you company and nap nearby like your loyal little shadow. He’s great with other dogs, kids, and even cats, and he enjoys being part of a household with people (and pets) around him.

Jasper is well housetrained, crate-trained, and overall a very good boy. He does take Prozac to help manage his anxiety, and when his humans leave the house, he can get a bit vocal about his feelings — so a standalone home would be a better fit than an apartment. Otherwise, he’s calm and quiet as can be.

Bonus points: Jasper recently had a dental cleaning and a ProHeart 12 injection (a year-long heartworm prevention), so he’s all set on that front.

We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
