My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This very handsome man is Oliver!

Oliver is an approximately 4.5-year old male American Bulldog/Boxer mix and weighs 60 lbs. He was adopted as puppy but due to the adopter's personal issues he was returned to the rescue.

Oliver is very friendly and social to everyone he meets! His personality shines through when you meet him. You can't help but smile. Oliver loves attention and will lean into you when you pet him. He also thinks he is a lap dog sometimes!

Oliver needs an active home, where he can be included in activities and get plenty of physical and mental exercise. Although, after all the playing is done, he will settle down next to you for some quiet time. He has been great with kids, but he is strong and might be too much for young children.

He is currently in daycare and he needs a secure stockade-fenced yard to play in and requires a home visit. Oliver is not overtly aggressive, but he does need to be the only dog in the home.

Oliver was crate and house-trained, but since he is in boarding now he may need a brief reintroduction to house-training in a new environment. He will walk on a leash, but a harness would make walking him much easier as he is a strong boy.

Oliver is neutered, current on vaccinations, on heartworm preventative, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $225.

Since Oliver is in boarding, he qualifies as a foster-to-adopt or just a foster only.

If you are interested in fostering Oliver, please go to www.foreveryoursokc.org/foster-application to apply.

Additional adoption info

Every dog that is rescued by Forever Yours is checked by a veterinarian, vaccinated, spay/neutered, dewormed, heartworm/ehrlichia tested and treated if needed, and microchipped. We also treat any other illnesses or issues that the dog may have on intake.

We require an adoption application (FYDRadopt.com), a house check, and our adoption fee is $225.00.

If available, you will get an opportunity to talk to your chosen pet's foster family when you meet your potential new family member. This will enable you to ask any questions and learn all about your pet.

Go meet their pets

Forever Yours Dog Rescue does not have a facility, all of our wonderful rescues are in foster homes with families that take care of them and love them until their forever homes come along.

More about this rescue

Forever Yours Dog Rescue was founded on November 8th, 2011, with the mission of helping smaller animal shelters located throughout Oklahoma.

We are an Oklahoma City based all-breed 501(c) dog rescue, caring for the unwanted, abandoned, and abused dogs of Oklahoma. We rescue from local shelters and shelters throughout Oklahoma. We do take owner surrender's under certain situations.

We advocate spay/neuter and offer assistance in finding a low-cost option for those that qualify.

We promote adoption as an alternative to buying your pet.
We provide pet ownership education through materials, counceling, and on-site workshops, at no cost to the public, with an emphasis on preventative care.

We are all volunteer based, with no paid employees.
Please support us in our mission to attain a time in Oklahoma when there are homes for all adoptable pets by donating at www.foreveryoursokc.org/donate.
