My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Diva!
Diva was adopted from us in 2018. She had an owner who adored her VERY much, and took fantastic care of her. Tragically, her owner passed away unexpectedly in December and Diva had no where to go. Diva ended up in a shelter that was overcrowded. Even though we did not have a foster open, we went to get her out in fear she would land on the euth list. Diva had everything she needed and is a great dog! Unfortunately, her whole world turned upside down when her owner passed. Our goal is to help her find her forever home.

Here’s what we’ve learned from people who knew Diva when she was with her previous owner: She loves all people and is a very social girl. We’re still not aware of any furry friends, but she wasn’t reactive to other dogs or cats she came across while out at her local pet store. She would love someone who can take her out for regular walks. Diva listens well and responds to commands, she is house trained. She seems like a low maintenance girl, just loves to take walks and chill on the couch with her person.

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

Visit www.phpdr.org/adopt to learn more about our adoption process and complete your application.

2.

Home Check

We complete a veterinary reference/rescue reference (if applicable) and home check for each of the dogs adopted through our organization.

Additional adoption info

At the time of adoption, all of our dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and heartworm tested as appropriate for age, given flea/tick and heartworm preventative treatment and micro-chipped.

You must be 18+ to adopt and a Missouri resident.

Check your HOA or lease for pet permissions.

We do not adopt out dogs that will be living outside on a chain, in a fenced yard or in an outdoor kennel--that's why our foster volunteers work hard to crate and potty train our dogs so they can live inside as a part of your family!

More about this rescue

People Helping Paws Dog Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that is fully volunteer-run and operated. We specialize in pulling pit bulls and bully breeds from kill shelters in our area. We save the most at-risk dogs that have medical or other issues which prevent them from being adopted. Our team works to rehabilitate these pups and give them a proper chance at life! Since our formation, PHPDR has saved over a thousand pets from euthanasia and, with your support, we continue to grow in the number of lives we save!

In addition to our foster/adoption program, we want to help keep pets in loving homes. To do this, we provide spay/neutering, medical services and dog food to families in need in our community.
