My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you would like more information about Black Betty Bramblejam or are interested in adopting her, please send an email to elizabeth.campbell92@yahoo.com

I found Betty at an abandoned house in spring 2023. She had just had puppies and looked like she had had many litters before. I didn’t think her nipples would ever return to normal, but they did. I had nowhere to take her, so I continued to visit and feed and water her until I had built a shed with a fenced yard. Betty is fixed and up to date on all vaccines. She is heartworm negative.

Betty is one of the friendliest, happiest, funniest, sweetest… she’s a lab. She’s VERY happy and VERY kissy. She shakes her whole body in joy. To me, she looks just like a black lab but she has her chow-chow mom’s thicker coat. I have seen her get hugs around the neck by small children and take it well. I think there was a child in the house before she was abandoned. I haven’t seen her with cats but she’s a very chill dog. I can’t imagine her mad at anything.

Betty’s joy in life is getting petted and giving kisses. She would rather kiss than “shake” so it took me a long time to realize she even knew how. She’s not overly food motivated so it takes her a bit to learn a new command. She likes treats but she could take them or leave them. Betty’s a good dog. She would fit in well with a variety of home situations.
