My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is Farah She is about 11 months old. She was checked by a vet before going into foster for a back injury.

She walks and her back legs give out. At first it was all the time but she seems to be doing better and learning how to adjust. She will need a lot of patience and As she is walking she will fall over. She falls out of the cat tree. She does know how to go up and down stairs now. That was hard for her to learn but she never gives up. She wants to do everything. . She is still very shy. Loves the cat lazer. Will only come to me if I am giving her treats. Then I am allowed to pet her. I don’t think she would do well with other animals for the fact when she try’s to run she will fall then get up and run. She can’t get away from anything.

As always, cats that are ready to be adopted are spayed/neutered, have age appropriate shots, are micro-chipped, dewormed/deflead, and FEL/FIV tested.

Our animal listings are updated daily to reflect any adoptions, sometimes even minutes after the adoption. Should you see an animal you are interested in please visit our website (ahimsahaven.org) to fill out an Adoption Application.

As we are an all volunteer organization, we are not able to answer phone/email inquiries about specific cats until your application has been submitted and approved.

Some animals are part of our Take A Chance On Me program and have a small adoption fee. You can see which ones on our website's "Take A Chance On Me" page.

Our adoption fees include spay or neuter, vaccinations. Ahimsa Haven Animal Rescue is a nonprofit organization, so your donations are tax deductible. Our adoption policies are as follows: We require a signed adoption contract, and payment of adoption fee prior to placement. Fee is refundable if the animal is returned within 30 days. We require that the animal be returned to our care, in the event the placement does not work out even if that is many years in the future.

Ahimsa Haven was incorporated in 1999 as a nonprofit animal rescue group. Our mission is to find good homes for abandoned, homeless and unwanted domestic animals.

Ahimsa is a term from an eastern religion that means "To do no harm, in thought or deed, to any living creature". Every penny we raise goes to the animals - no one gets a salary!
