My basic info
Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Cornelius and Sirius are a bonded pair of male gerbils. They were surrendered to a nearby humane society due to the owner moving and not being able to bring them with. They received no interest at the humane society, so they came to us so that they would receive more gerbil-specific attention and find their new home!
Their estimated birthdate is 04/26/2022
From the foster:
"Sirius: black gerbil. He is the more friendly of the two. He will take treats from your hand, sit in your hand, let you pet him, and run out to greet you when you open the cage top. He doesn’t care to be held (squirms badly) but has not bitten me.
Cornelius: slate colored gerbil. (That’s the correct term for his fur!) He is friendly in the cage and will also take treats but a bit more hesitant to come up to your hand. I picked him up and went full panic mode and bit me hard. It might just be that I’m still new to him? I’ll keep trying with leather gloves next time 😬
Both of them are very friendly INSIDE the cage.
It leads me to believe previous owners never took them out of the cage or held them…. just put hands in the cage to pet them."
