Christmas aka Chrissy is an 8-year-old pittie mix who desperately needs a quiet, loving home. She was surrendered alongside her housemate, Pebbles, who we pulled earlier this week. This sweet senior mama spent years being used for breeding, only to be discarded when she was no longer “useful.”
Chrissy was terrified, shaking, and confused in her kennel. But with time, she has slowly started to warm up to staff and volunteers and is gaining confidence. Unfortunately, her skin is in rough shape, and her lady parts were even worse. Volunteers have been giving her medicated baths, and during her spay, the vet discovered she had pyometra, a life-threatening infection in unspayed females. Thankfully, she survived and is now recovering.
Chrissy deserves the comfort of a loving home. She was indifferent to dogs and cats and would do best in a quiet, adult-only home. No kids for this gentle soul—she needs peace, patience, and love.
If you can help Chrissy, please apply at pittiesandpals.com. She deserves to spend her golden years in a home, not a kennel.

More about this rescue
Pitties and Pals Rescue, Inc. is (a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit). Our mission is to rescue dogs and educate the public. Although our main focus is the bully breed, we are committed to all dogs in need. We believe RESCUE involves a multitude of approaches that includes liberating dogs from at risk situations, whether in a shelter or with an owner in need of assistance. While adoption is always the ultimate goal, we believe transitioning into foster care allows for socialization and training that are key components to a successful placement.
Pitties and Pals volunteers are also committed to changing the negative public perception of the Bully Breed. As such, we welcome opportunities to heighten awareness and enhance education in a public forum through our personal stories and positive experiences.
