Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This 9-year-old tiny bundle of personality is looking for a special home where he can thrive. While Avalanche may have had a reputation for being “tiny and angry” at the shelter, he’s proven that underneath it all, he’s a snuggly, sweet boy who loves nuzzling close to his human. He doesn’t mind being held and has a soft spot for making friends—his best buddy is a giant German Shepherd!
Avalanche is crate-trained, travels well in the car, and enjoys the quiet comforts of home life. While he’s not a fan of sweaters (no need for a wardrobe), he loves curling up with his favorite person. He’d do best in an all-adult home with someone who works from home or is retired, where he can soak up all the love and attention he deserves.
Avalanche is not neutered yet but will be soon, and all his other vet care is up to date. Rescued from the Newark shelter after his previous owner passed away, he’s left his angry days behind (mostly) and is ready to start a new chapter with his forever family.
ADOPTION PROCESS:
1. You must begin our adoption process by applying to adopt on clawsadopt.org. Please do NOT inquire via Petfinder, social media messengers or in our comments. We will only be looking at applications!
2. Please make sure you fill out our adoption application COMPLETELY. We may not be able to respond to applications that are not completely filled out with the proper information. Side note: on our applications, the more details you provide = the better.
3. We prefer applicants live within 60 miles of Closter, NJ. (Applicants who live farther away may still apply. However, please note we do prioritize local applications as we try our best to serve our local community first.)
4. Please respect our organization, our volunteers and our process. As a reminder, our organization is a nonprofit. We receive no money from the state. We have no paid employees! This is a polite reminder that we are doing our best to make the right decisions for the animals in our care. Thank you.
