Here's what the humans have to say about me:
While we do not often have capacity to take in mixes, every now and then the situation is so bleak that we find room to help out pups in need. These small puppies needed us badly and are not looking back, as we know most dogs don’t. Carter came in with his sister Carla and are doing great in their foster homes. We can only go by what we were told of their breeds so we will not venture to guess and risk being wrong.
Carter will be his person’s shadow. He loves to snuggle and be wherever you are, content to do whatever you are doing. Cooking dinner? He's laying at your feet, watching TV? He's snoozing on the floor by your feet or against your leg on the couch. He travels well in the car, no barking or car sickness. Potty training is going well. He only needs one trip outside over night at this point and always lets you know when it's time. Crate training is not his favorite and would much prefer a soft dog bed on the floor next to your bed (where he currently sleeps soundly all night) He is currently living with a young active Australian cattle dog and they love to play and chase balls together. He has almost mastered a sit and walks well on a leash. We are working on sitting for attention rather than jumping but that comes with time.
If Carter strikes your fancy and you are ready to help him become the best Collie-mix citizen ever, please fill out an adoption application today! Don't wait! And if Carter isn’t your cup of tea, we have many more Collies of all ages coming in weekly. Please visit https://tristatecollierescue.org/how-to-adopt/ to complete the adoption application.
Carter is being fostered in Ohio
