My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**Please scroll down and read the entire bio before emailing with questions. We will not respond to emails that ask questions already in the bio of the pet or generic questions of 'how old is it?', 'can I get more information?', 'oh it's so cute', etc. You must fill out an application in order to schedule an appointment.

Here is a link to our online application https://almosthomenm.rescueivey.com/apply/adopt

The application can also be found and downloaded from our main website https://almosthomenm.org/available-for-adoption

Once you have filled out an application please watch your emails to schedule an appointment. Please be aware we do not hold dogs until an appointment to meet them is scheduled.

Cutest Little Pair of Sweet, Playful Pug mixes

Approximate DOB 10/1/2023 – About 15 lbs Milly and 17 lbs Marcos

Milly and Marcos are sweet, loving, and very playful once they get to know you. Very people oriented, smart, and treat and toy motivated once they relax and feel comfortable. They enjoy playing in the yard together or with the kids in the foster home, Marcos plays fetch, and after a long day they enjoy hanging out inside watching tv with the children. They are very bonded and can be quite shy upon meeting new people but they warm up. Both dogs are crate trained, house trained, dog door trained, learning to walk on leash, and eager to please.

Marcos and Milly are the type of dog that if you have a yard, some toys, and two hands for petting (one for each) they will be happy. Both of these cuties are sweet, loving, and playful once they get to know someone. They are just adorable!! Someone will be very happy with these two cuties. Marcos and Milly love to play with other dogs but are more of just a bonded pair that love each other and their family. They would do best in an active family that likes to hang out at home, play, and cuddle on the couch. They will need more socialization out in public if you want to take them for walks or to parks - but if you are a homebody they would be right up your alley.

Spayed/neutered, microchipped, and current on all vaccinations -

Fee $300 for both

We do welcome out-of-state adoptions.

Send an email to request the application or you can download it from the main site www.almosthomenm.org and email it to adopt@almosthomenm.org

Dogs are seen by appointment only after an application has been submitted and approved. If you have other dogs it is recommended you bring them out to the meeting but not required.

Steps for adoption: Read bio, email to request application or download it from the main website, fill it out completely and email it back, once approved you will receive an email asking you when you would like to come out to meet the pet, schedule an appointment, directions will be emailed or text to you. Adoption fees are cash only.

If you would like to provide snacks for Miss Vegas while she waits for her happily ever after we would truly appreciate it.

Additional adoption info

If you are interested in adopting from us but have questions please feel free to e-mail us at adopt@almosthomenm.org

In order to start the application process you must send us an e-mail request for an application. We will e-mail it to you as soon as possible. Then just fill it out and send it back via e-mail. Once we receive it then we can schedule an appointment for you to come out and meet the animals.

We are not an open to the public facility with specific hours of operation. We are a foster home and therefore require an application submitted before an appointment can be made and directions given out.

If you would like to adopt from out of state then you must be willing to come out to meet and adopt the pet you are interested in.. We do not ship pets nor will we meet someone somewhere.. We want adopters to come out and spend at least an hour with this pet in their environment before adopting just to ensure there is a connection. We would hate for the adoption to not work and be so far away.

More about this rescue

We are a newly formed rescue in Peralta, NM. We are still very small and currently in process of getting our 501c3 tax exempt status. It is mainly just myself, my two daughters and a small group of volunteers. We only take in animals from shelters who are scheduled to be put down. All animals are housed in my home and on my property. We started this rescue due to the simple fact that there are so many wonderful dogs dying everyday at the shelters because there just isn't enough room.We do not discriminate against any breed. Every dog has the potential to be a great family pet, working dog, or therapy dog- just as every dog has the potential to become a "dangerous dog" due to the simple fact that they all (or most anyway) have teeth and can bite when provoked or trained to obey their owners commands.
We do it for the love of the animals and the need to find forever homes for the ones impounded due to no fault of their own.
