Yellowstone is a special and adorable mutt-mix, approximately one-and-a-half years old and weighing around 22 pounds. He came to rescue after being found as a stray. He was running the streets in a particular area around Grand Canyon University, and was being fed by a nearby business. A humane trap was set for another stray dog and ended up catching Yellowstone instead. Yellowstone is now safe at rescue, off the streets, but he would really love to find a forever family asap! Yellowstone HATES shelter life. He is very stressed in his kennel, bouncing all around, barking and jumping off the kennel walls. Out of his kennel, Yellowstone takes a bit of time to relax, but is a totally different (and wonderful!) dog. Yellowstone will need a patient family willing to allow him the time he needs to decompress from life on the streets and time in a kennel/shelter environment. Yellowstone is shy to approach new people, but once he trusts you, he will climb in your lap for pets and love. We are sure he will be a lap dog one day in his forever home! Yellowstone is working on his leash skills and getting better every day; he will pancake when going through doors, but will keep moving forward with gentle encouragement. Yellowstone has met some friends at rescue and enjoys being social with other dogs and especially likes being chased. If your dog at home needs a buddy, bring them in to meet Yellowstone! Yellowstone would do best in a home that is relatively quiet, with no young children. It will take him a bit of time to adjust to a new environment, but we have NO doubt that Yellowstone will be worth a little extra effort. <3 Email chitownrescue@gmail.com for more information/meet and greet with Yellowstone! Yellowstone's adoption fee includes neuter surgery, vaccinations including rabies, and microchip.
