Hi, I’m Rufus.
Life took a turn I didn’t expect — my family couldn’t keep me or my best friend dexter anymore, so we ended up at the shelter. We waited and hoped they’d change their mind, but they never came back. It was scary and confusing, but 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue told us that wasn’t the end of our story.
Now I’m dreaming of a forever home where I’ll finally be loved and never have to say goodbye again. I’ve got a big heart, a gentle spirit, and so much love to give — I just need someone willing to give me a chance. I absouletly LOVE playing with dexter and they have promised us we will NOT be split and we will get to spend the rest of our lives together.

Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.
A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs.
