Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hello! My name is Panther, I am a 5 year old, neutered male, long-haired black cat. My journey hasn’t been the easiest. I was once a stray, wandering alone, until a kind person took me in and gave me a home. Life was good, but sadly, my owner could no longer care for me due to age. I was relinquished to MaxFund February 2025 by no fault of my own, and now I am looking for my fur-ever home!
I am a sleek handsome boy with the fluffiest black fur, but my best feature? My heart. I’m a total lovebug who lives for head scratches and back rubs—seriously, the moment you start petting me, I just melt right into your hands. I’m happiest when I’m with my humans, soaking up all the affection I can get. Whether it’s snuggle time, a good chat, or just being by your side, I’ll be your most devoted companion. I may have started as a stray, but I was made for love. If you’re looking for a friendly, affectionate companion who will greet you with purrs and always be by your side, I think we might just be a perfect match.
I do not like other cats and must be your only kitty. I think I would be ok living with a dog, if you introduce us slowly so I can get used to being around a dog.
If you think I would be a good fit for your home, please come to the shelter to meet me! The shelter hours are Sunday - Monday, & Wednesday - Saturday (Closed Tuesday) 9:30 AM - 4:30 PM, Closed 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM for lunch.

More about this shelter
The MaxFund is a non-profit organization that was established in May of 1988 to provide medical care for injured pets with no known owners, and to seek out new homes for these animals once they have recovered. The MaxFund is a no-kill dog and cat shelter. MaxFund assists hundreds of people and animals each year by trying to make the correct match between owner and pet. MaxFund adopts our animals to Colorado residents only.
The MaxFund is a TRUE no-kill shelter. There is no pre-sorting of animals into "adoptable" and "non-adoptable" categories, discarding the so-called "unadoptable." The MaxFund takes every animal it has the space for. EVERY animal is kept until its owner is found or it is placed in a new adoptive home.
