My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Zelda is a bright, affectionate young dog with a playful spirit and a lot of heart. She loves being close to her people and will happily follow her humans from room to room, soaking up companionship wherever she can find it.

She’s a big fan of her salmon-based food (no toppers required!) and absolutely adores toys—especially squeaky ones. Her prized possession is her squeaky mushroom, which she proudly squeaks once she’s found just the right spot. During quieter moments, she enjoys rope toys for tug and relaxed chewing. Zelda is also a huge fan of water—whether it’s a kiddie pool, a hose, or a good old-fashioned mud puddle, she doesn’t discriminate and is always ready to splash, stomp, and have fun.

Zelda is currently adjusting to a more typical routine that includes time home alone during the day. While this has been a learning curve, she continues to make steady progress and gain confidence as she settles into a predictable rhythm. Zelda is crate trained, she settles well once inside and remains calm and quiet.

Zelda looks forward to her daily walks and quickly becomes a lovely walking companion. Like many young dogs, distractions can be exciting, and she will benefit from continued leash work and confidence-building training. On walks, Zelda enjoys watching other dogs and is very interested in them. She’s still learning how to manage her excitement and would do best with guidance to help develop polite greetings. With people, she is friendly, affectionate, and happiest when she’s near her humans.

Zelda can be a bit chatty, occasionally offering barks, howls, or soft commentary when she hears household or neighborhood noises—just one of her expressive quirks.

Zelda would thrive in a home that embraces puppy energy, enjoys training, and has a backyard where she can play, chase, burn off zoomies, and splash to her heart’s content. She’s eager to please, proud when she gets things right, and ready to grow into a truly wonderful companion.

Zelda requires a home without cats.

Additional adoption info

Once you have found a dog or cat that you think will be a match for you and your family we ask that you go to the adoptables tab of our website and send in an adoption application
Keeping in mind that our rescue is ran by volunteers we will only be contacting the applications that are a great match with one of our animals

Once we have processed the application we will contact references and the applicant. If the application is approved we will then set up a time to meet the animal Once everything has been completed we will schedule an adoption day. This will all depend on the age of the animal and if it still needs to be neutered/spayed. None of our animals will be released to their new home until they are spayed or neutered.

Our adoption fee includes
Spay/neuter
Microchip
1st set of shots
Rabies (depending on age)
Deworming
Please Note: We require our adopters to have a fenced yard (unless you live in a condo) and to be over the age of 18. All renters need to provide Landlord consent before their application can be processed

Our Story

It is my passion to help homeless, neglected and abused animals. I have been working in Calgary and area trying to help as many of these animals as I can by supporting families in my target community outside the city and here in Calgary, along with feeding many homeless dogs and cats.

With the support of my family and friends and their donations I have been able to start up this small rescue to help as many as I can.
