My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Frankie is a one-year-old pittie with a big smile and an even bigger heart. At 65 pounds of pure love, he may be too large for a lap–but don’t tell him that. He leans all the way in for pets like it’s his full-time job, and if you’re handing out pup cups, he’ll happily show off his “power devourer” skills.

Frankie gets along wonderfully with people of all ages and dogs of all sizes. He’s friendly, affectionate, and has that special goofy charm that makes him a staff favorite wherever he goes. He’s neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to bring joy to a forever home.

This camera-shy cutie loves dressing up, gives big-time cuddles, and melts hearts with his gentle, treat-motivated nature. While he’s still brushing up on his leash manners and has a curious interest in birds and bunnies, he improves every time–especially when someone he trusts is guiding him. He’s also crate-trained, enjoys long walks, and has snuggly, cuddly vibes.

Frankie is currently boarding in Colorado, and we’re hoping to get him back into the home environment with a foster or adopter’s where he can thrive. We’re looking for someone in the Boulder area or Southern California who’s ready to make Frankie's dream of a family come true.

More about this rescue

K9 Kismet Dog Rescue is a foster-based, volunteer-run 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Long Beach, CA. Founded in 2015, our dedicated team has helped to place hundreds of animals in loving, permanent homes.

Our primary mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and find loving, permanent homes for homeless dogs, specifically dogs in shelters at-risk of euthanasia and dogs whose owners can no longer care for them. We believe in compassionate rescue when the dog is enduring inhumane living conditions or likely to be deemed less adoptable due to age, health, emotional state, or breed. We ensure that all the dogs we take into our rescue, regardless of individual needs, are cared for with love and compassion for the duration of their lives.

We strive to make a difference in the life of each dog we bring into our pack, and our commitment to each dog doesn’t end once they are adopted. We provide lifelong support to all K9 Kismet alumni should an emergency arise. Once a K9 Kismet Dog, always a K9 Kismet Dog. This isn’t a catch phrase; this is a core value.
