My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
This pet was brought in by a community member.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Glimmer, a sweet and sensitive girl looking for a loving new family! Glimmer needs a little extra time to feel comfortable with new people, but once she builds trust, she blossoms into a playful and affectionate pup. Glimmer's ideal adopters will be patient and willing to build a relationship with her at her own pace. She may do best in a quieter, low-traffic home where any children are able to understand her body language. In our care, Glimmer has benefitted from having a dog friend around to help her confidence, so we recommend she go to a home with a friendly canine sibling. Some tips to win her heart and earn her loyalty: she's a big fan of chicken and squeaky toys! Glimmer is ready to add some sparkle into your life - inquire about this sweet girl today!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
