Oh hey, didn’t see you there. I was very busy doing important dog things—like staring at my favorite squeaky toy and contemplating the meaning of life (spoiler: the meaning of life is more squeaky toys). Anyway, allow me to introduce myself: I’m Lucky, the Potcake prince from Turks and Caicos, and I’m here to find my forever human.
I came all the way from a Caribbean paradise where I lived the island life. Sun, sand, street smarts—it was all good… except, well, not really. Life was rough. Let’s just say I’ve seen some things (SA survivor here), and it took me a while to realize that not all humans are bad. So yeah, I’m a little skeptical of strangers, especially men. If you think you’re gonna waltz in and win me over with a treat and a belly rub—wrong. You gotta earn my trust, buddy. But once you do? Oh, it’s game over. You’ll have a loyal, slightly dopy, squeaky toy-obsessed best friend for life.
Speaking of squeaky toys—I am OBSESSED. You got a tiny latex squeaky toy? I will find it. I will protect it. I will cherish it. I will squeak it relentlessly at 3 AM like it’s my life’s purpose. It might actually be my life’s purpose.
I’m good with most dogs, but cats? Absolutely not. I don’t trust those little sneak thieves. Kids? Nah, I prefer a drama-free existence. Also, I have a chronic illness called Ehrlichiosis—big, scary word, but don’t freak out. It’s just a tick-borne illness I’ve had for a while. Occasionally, I have a little flare-up, pop some doxycycline, and boom—I’m back to being my normal, squeaky-obsessed, slightly dramatic self, so I need a family who’s willing to keep me feeling my best. I promise, I’m totally worth it.
Look, I know I’m not an easy dog. I take time. I need patience, understanding, and a steady supply of squeaky toys. But if you put in the work, I’ll reward you with loyalty, laughs, and the best snuggles you’ve ever had. So, are you up for the challenge? Because I’m worth it.
Come meet me—if you think you can handle this level of greatness. 🐾🎾
