Their adoption process

Step 1 - submit an application
Step 2 - Have a phone interview
Step 3 - Home check
Step 4 - Sign adoption contract
Step 5 - Take your new family member home.
Step 6 - We will be checking in a couple days, a couple weeks and a month post adoption to make sure the dog is adjusting to his/her new home.

Adoption steps

  1. Submit Application
    1. Whether a potential adopter meets the dog at an adoption event or sees them online, we need an adoption application to begin the process
  2. Interview
    1. The second step is a phone call so I can tell the adopter all about the dog, and find out more about their lifestyle.
  3. Home Check
    1. The most important step! All members of the house hold need to be there. I check the yard and the home.
  4. Sign Adoption Contract
    1. We let them know we will keep the dog chipped to us and that if they can't keep the dog, he/she comes back to us. Adoption fee is collected
  5. Take the Pet Home
    1. We check in with a couple days, a couple weeks and a month after they adopt to make sure the dog is adjusting well and give any help needed

Go meet their pets

Just starting out and do not have a regular adoption event site yet.

More about this rescue

Southpaw Rescue is a 501 (c) (3) Southern California animal rescue, focused on the San Bernardino Mountain Communities, dedicated to partnering with other likeminded organizations and individuals to rescue animals in need; providing foster homes and medical care before ultimately finding them the right forever home.

With the hope of one day seeing a world where animal cruelty no longer exists and all animals have a safe home, Southpaw Rescue seeks to work with shelters, individual rescuers and law enforcement to magnify our impact on rescuing animals from abusive and neglectful circumstances.
