Meet Winston – The Snowbank King!

Winston has just arrived at his foster home and is already stealing hearts! His foster mom describes him as a bundle of love and joy—sweet-natured, cuddly, and full of puppy enthusiasm.

This adorable 3.5-month-old Cockapoo mix (born November 6, 2024) weighs 10 lbs (4.5 kg) and is expected to grow to around 20-25 lbs based on the breed (but we don’t know for sure). While we anticipate he’ll be a low-shedding pup, he is may not be hypoallergenic. Winston will receive his final vaccinations on March 10, and he’ll be ready for adoption after that. Since he is still young, his future family will need to have him neutered when he’s older.

Winston is discovering the joys of playtime and loves the great outdoors! He’s fascinated by snowbanks—climbing them like a tiny mountaineer, perching on top to watch the world go by, and gleefully chasing after blowing leaves. This boy will definitely need leash training but is eager to learn. House training is a work in progress, and his foster family is ensuring he gets plenty of breaks outside to help him along.

Winston has lots of energy and would thrive in an active home—with or without another dog. Apartment living won’t be ideal for him, as he’d love a fenced yard to run and play freely. At night, he is OK in a crate but needs some time to settle in.

Since he’s still very much a puppy, puppy nipping and chewing are part of the package. An experienced family who understands puppy training would be ideal. He’d do well with puppy-savvy children who can respect his needs. Training classes will be important for Winston to grow into the best boy possible! As a puppy, he cannot be left for long periods of time. Consistent grooming for Winston will be needed – he just went to the groomers and he did so well there, easily winning their hearts.
