Meet Trixie The Sweetest Little Spark Plug You’ll Ever Know!

Trixie is the perfect mix of snuggly and spunky! She’s a total lovebug who adores couch cuddles (especially if there are blankets involved) and will happily snooze by your side. But don’t let the cuddles fool you — she’s got energy for days and absolutely lights up when she gets to romp around the yard with her toys. Watching her run with pure joy is a treat in itself!

She’s super playful, silly, and has earned the nickname “Baby Shark” thanks to her curious nature and determination to explore the world (and occasionally nibble it). When she’s really excited, she does her adorable “happy feet” prance — it’s impossible not to smile when you see it!

Trixie gets along great with her furry foster brother, Hank — they nap together, chill on the couch, and sunbathe side by side in the grass. Like any growing pup, she’s still learning to share space during mealtimes and high-value play, so they enjoy those moments separately for now. Trixie has come such a long way in building trust and learning that her toys and space are safe with her humans.

She knows how to “sit” like a champ, is working on her “wait” and “drop it” commands, and is really food-motivated — which makes training fun! Walks are one of her favorite things, and while she’s still learning not to pull (so much to sniff, so little time!), she’s making great progress.

Trixie is wonderful in her crate, sleeps like a dream, and knows her “go to your crate” command. She’s also a fantastic car companion — calm, curious, and always ready for an adventure. Most importantly, she’s incredibly loving with people — even the littlest ones! Her bond with her foster family’s toddler is beyond sweet, and she’s shown so much patience and gentleness.

This girl has overcome so much, and her joy for life shines through every day. She’s goofy, affectionate, loyal, and just so full of heart. With a little continued guidance and a lot of love, Trixie will make the most amazing forever companion.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Potential families are asked to complete or Adoption Application before visiting our dogs. We introduce you and your family including any other dogs/cats in your family to our adoptable dogs. If the meeting is a good match we will schedule a home check to ensure that the home is a good match for the pet that you have selected. You will then be asked to complete our Adoption Agreement and to finalize the adoption there will be a processing fee to adopt a pet from us. All proceeds go directly back to help support our rescue and there are no paid employees so all fees are used for our pets waiting to be adopted.

More about this rescue

We are located in the San Diego area and pull dogs from southern California shelters and we assist families in rehoming their pets so that they don't have to go to a shelter.

I started doing rescue because I couldn't stand to see adoptable dogs being euthanized due to lack of an immediate home. I knew that I could find them good homes.
