My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Cookie – the sweetest treat you’ve been missing!

Cookie is truly the handsomest little pup around — charming, smart, and full of fun! Somehow, this lovable boy keeps getting overlooked, but once you meet him, you’ll wonder how anyone could resist that face and that heart.

Cookie graduated from the Paws in Prison program at the very top of his class, mastering obedience and showing just how eager he is to please. He’s now diving into nose work, and it’s like he’s found his calling — confident, focused, and thriving every step of the way.

He absolutely adores other dogs, plays beautifully, and brings joy wherever he goes. Cookie is that perfect mix of brains, heart, and goofy charm — the kind of dog that makes every day brighter.

Let’s make this the greatest Thanksgiving ever by giving Cookie what he’s waited so patiently for — a forever home filled with love, laughter, and second chances.

If you're ready to welcome Cookie into your home and heart, contact the Paws in Prison program today. Don't wait- this sweet boy wont be available for long! www.pawsinprisontx.com

More about this rescue

We are a prison located in Lockhart TX. We rescue dogs from rural area shelters and take them into the prison for training on basic obedience. They are also house trained and crate trained. Training is done by the women inmate handlers. A professional trainer comes to the prison weekly to teach the inmates how to train the dogs. Dogs live at the prison for 2-3 months, in the cells with the inmates, while they are being trained.

All dogs are up to date on their shots, heartworm negative and on preventative, spayed/neutered, microchipped and trained for basic obedience.
