Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Introducing Gremlin! Gremlin is 2.5-3 years old and weighs about 65 pounds. He loves being outside, soaking up the sun, enjoying some peace and quiet. He’s all about attention once he feels safe with you, and the volunteers who know him? Total fans. He’s a favorite.
Now, full disclosure: Gremlin can be a little intimidating when you first meet him. He’s not going to roll over for belly rubs right away—and that’s okay. Give him a couple meet-and-greets, bring the treats, and let him come around on his own terms. Once he does, you’ll see the goofball underneath that tough-guy exterior.
Life hasn’t exactly been kind to Gremlin. His previous owners didn’t set him up for success. He ended up on the surrender list at the Humane Society, and not long after, he and his brother were brought in as “strays.” It’s no surprise he missed out on learning things like sit, shake, or how to actually play. But the good news? He’s a blank slate, and he’s ready to learn with someone who believes in him.
Gremlin’s the kind of dog who just needs someone to give him a real shot. Could that someone be you?

More about this shelter
The Marion County Dog Pound is a county facility that is run by the Marion County Sheriff's Office. We respond to stray/loose dogs and Humane cases, bringing in several dogs a week. Since the Sheriff's Office took over, we have became classified as a no-kill facility only euthanizing for sickness and aggression. We are doing our best to maintain a no-kill environment and are working diligently to help and re-home every dog that comes through our doors. To do this we need the help of our community. Volunteers are welcome to come out at any time!
