My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Coby is a handsome Border Collie mix who was adopted from PACC previously and spent about six months in a home. In that home he reportedly did well with other dogs, was house trained, and was described as an affectionate, independent dog who loves toys, likes car rides and knows tricks. Here’s what his former person said:

“Coby overall is a very sweet, beautiful dog. He is clownish, loves to play and fetch, and makes cute noises. He gets along well with humans he knows and dogs. He really likes being on a set schedule, so it`s best if he is in an environment where it is relatively quiet and predictable. He can be left alone in the house loose for hours at a time. He likes to play with his human and dog companions and knows when you say `gentle` to be more gentle with you. He walks best with another dog, but if he is alone he is fine, just needs a bit more leash training. Loud noises are tough for him, but he improves all the time. He likes to play fetch indoors, so it would be best if he had a place bigger than a small studio. I moved into a tiny mobile home, and I think he`d be happier in a bigger place.”

Here’s what some of Coby’s friends at the shelter have said:

“Coby was a little timid in the kennel but easy to leash. Once he was out, he became very curious- a big-time sniffer. It’s fun to watch his ears prick up when listening to something as he has very tall ears. He’s great with his kennelmate, he likes attention, and he knows his ‘sit’ command. His ‘down’ command is new to him, but he’s about halfway into it. A couple more tries and I know he’ll get it. It’s obvious that he has high intelligence and is very trainable. Overall, a delight to walk.”

“Coby was shy at first, but after a tasty treat, he allowed the leash to be placed. He seemed to gain confidence around his kennelmate and walked nicely. He took treats gently.”

Coby shares his with another PACC pup and has been playful and easygoing when meeting other dogs in playgroup. He’d love to trade shelter life for a quiet home with a family who will help him decompress and feel safe. Ask to meet Coby today!
