My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This sweet senior cat is looking for a special home where he can feel safe, comfortable, and loved. He has a gentle but independent personality and does best with someone who understands and respects his need for space. He enjoys attention on his own terms but can become a bit overwhelmed at times, so a quiet and patient home would suit him best.
He does have some medical considerations, including enlarged kidneys and a weaker immune system, but he’s doing well right now. While we don’t have a definitive diagnosis, what matters most is that he deserves a caring home where he can enjoy his golden years in comfort.
We know this is a tall order—finding someone with the patience, experience, and kindness to meet his needs isn’t easy. But we also know he deserves that kind of love, and we believe the right person is out there. With time, understanding, and a gentle hand, he will surely share his heart in the most special way.

More about this shelter

We serve the pets and people in Northern Illinois and Southeastern Wisconsin. Our mission is clear: To take responsibility for each and every orphaned, abandoned, abused or neglected dog and cat which reaches our doors; to take them in and shelter them; to provide the best medical and physical care possible for them; to nurture them back to health if need be; and finally to place them into warm, loving, adoptive homes where they can enjoy the lives they deserve.
