Chief’s story started on the side of the road with nothing but a giant bag of dog food—and a whole lot of hope. Lucky for him, a kind rescuer spotted him and pulled over. Chief, thrilled to see a friendly face, hopped right into the car and never looked back!
Now safe and thriving, Chief is a strong, happy boy who’s full of life and love. He’s got a big personality and doesn’t quite realize how strong he is, so a home with older kids would be best (unless your toddlers like to be playfully bowled over). He absolutely LOVES stuffed toys—he’ll sit oh-so-politely to get one… and then joyfully destroy it in under five minutes. Rinse and repeat. It’s his favorite sport!
Chief knows how to sit and will flash you a charming smile when waiting for treats. He gets along with other dogs, but he prefers more easy-going, submissive buddies—alpha vibes aren't really his thing. He’s also an adventure pup at heart and would thrive with an active family who enjoys walks, hikes, and all things outdoors.

Adoption counselor will email you to discuss the inquiry/application,and give more info about the pet, the foster and adoption process..

If you are approved to adopt, payments can be made on our website through PayPal, Debit Card or any major credit card.

Adoption application required for dogs. However, because it stresses cats to be confined and transported with dogs long distances, we do not transport our cats. They are local to Texas only. Thank you.
Adoption fees with transport included start at $400 higher prices for Purebred and/or highly desirable pets. Adoption application, adoption contract, return/foster agreement if dog doesn't work out in home.
We work hard to place dogs in the right homes, if the adoption does not work out and we have room to take the dog back into the rescue, we will. However, the sheer number of needy animals in TX usually means we become full quickly after the dog is adopted. So, in those cases we will post the animal, help the adopter screen applicants and help facilitate finding another home for the dog.
