Meet Kai: Kai is a 2-year-old mixed-breed dog who came to us from Georgia in early 2025. Kai is a very sensitive and gentle soul who is still learning that the world can be a safe place. Right now, Kai is very fearful and hasn’t had many chances to meet new people or experience new things. Because of this, he needs a quiet home with calm, patient adults who understand that trust takes time. Loud noises and lots of activity can be scary for Kai, so younger kids are not recommended, as they may make him feel overwhelmed. Kai would do best with “adult-style” people who move slowly, speak softly, and respect his space. He is also a flight risk, which means he may try to run if he feels scared. A secure home with safety measures—like double doors, a fenced area, and careful leash handling—will help him feel protected and safe. With patience, consistency, and love, Kai has the chance to grow braver every day. He is looking for a kind-hearted person who believes in him and is willing to go at his pace. In return, Kai will offer quiet companionship and the reward of watching trust slowly bloom.

If you are interested in adopting a dog from us please visit the ranch. Our website adoptions page has all of our availalbe dogs and our adoption application at www.bdrr.org/adopt. This will help us make sure we find you the right dog to fit your situation and family. You are welcomed to come to the ranch seven days a week or you can make an appointment with our adoption desk. Our adoption fees range depending on the dog's breed, age and other factors.
