Nougat is such a fun young boy! He was an owner surrender to Chicago Animal Care and Control due to an eviction, and came with notes on how great he was with other dogs and children. Sadly, Nougat waited at CACC for a few weeks until we met him-- but we are so glad we did! He is a total sweetheart. He loves all of his new friends, human and canine!
He loves toys, treats-- the basics! He is a really fast learner, and walks great on a leash. He really does try to keep his kennel clean and hold it until he can unleash a stream outside!
After being with us for a few weeks, and making so many dog and human friends, we are happy to report that Nougat moved into a foster home with a couple of young kids (10 and 14) and another dog. His foster mom says, "Nougat is doing great! No accidents at all. Very well behaved. Nougat is almost a perfect dog. He is sweet and playful and, at the same time gentle and calm. Nougat behaves really well and likes dogs and humans. He understands basic commands and responds to his name. Except being a little chewy as a young puppy, (he likes to grab shoes and paper towel rolls!) which is expected to go away when getting older, there is really nothing bad about Nougat."
When his first foster family's schedule became too busy for them to keep fostering, Nougat moved to a foster home with adults where he is a spoiled only child! He is doing very well there, which shows how he can thrive in a variety of settings. He has not had any accidents, and gets to sleep in bed with his foster mom. She writes, "Nougat is a curious, eager to learn puppy. He is a cuddle bug and loves to snuggle. While not currently living with other dogs, Nougat has had many interactions with other dogs and just loves to play and run with any dogs that can keep up. Nougat is sweet and loves belly rubs. Nougat loves to walk and explore the neighborhood."
We are so happy that Nougat is getting this break from shelter life, and would love to find his adoptive home where he never has to worry about being back in the shelter again.
Nougat’s adoption fee is $250. This animal is neutered, up to date on core vaccines, and Heartworm negative.
