My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Preston. I am just over 1 year old and full of energy! I love to go on long walks, play tug of war, and sometimes chase a ball in the yard. Since I have so much energy, I would love to meet a family that would take me on long walks, spend time with me, and give me good snacks. I need lots of exercise every day!

I enjoy looking out the car window while running errands with my foster family. I have been living with other dogs, so I would love to have canine siblings to play with. One of my favorite games to grab one end of the rope and run with my foster sister on the other end of the rope. We like to take turns shaking the rope. I like to nap on a soft bed, in an open crate, or anywhere next to my humans.

I have been helping care for younger foster siblings, I am told I am a very good older brother. It’s a lot of work teaching new puppies, but I don’t mind. I always have fun playing with them.

I do sometimes get a little scared in new situations and new people, but a slow introduction helps me feel comfortable. It’s a great way to see how sweet I am. As much as I love my foster family, I am looking for a new adventure.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

If you are interested in one of our animals, please fill out an adoption application, located on our web site here: http://tubacityhumanesociety.org/adoptions/ . There is more information about our adoption process, including our adoption fees, on that page. In general, fill out an adoption application, and then photo or scan it to our email at tubacityhumane@gmail.com, and that enables us to start a conversation with you. From there, the foster would usually set up a meet and greet with the animal you are interested in. We like all family members to meet the animal, and any other pets as well. We do require a home check. Adoption fees do not cover our veterinary cost, but do help us to continue our work. All animals are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Most animals are also microchipped.

Go meet their pets

Arrangements can usually be made to meet most of our adoptable animals in Flagstaff. The process starts by filling out an application and returning it to to us through email. Some animals are fostered in Tuba City or other locations. We do attend some adoption events in Flagstaff.

More about this rescue

We are a small rescue/foster group located in Tuba City, AZ, on the western Navajo Nation. We do not have a facility. We have two main programs: rescue of homeless animals in need, and a low-cost spay/neuter program for the public. We rely on donations to continue our work.
