Buttercup is a gentle, low-key senior (+10) Shih Tzu who’s all about peace, quiet, and the sedentary life. She is looking for her (chill) human with whom she can spend the remaining years of her life. She is mostly blind and deaf. She had an eye removed and mammary tumors removed.
Her foster says “she’s a special Buttercup.” She is sweet and chill. She is NOT destructive or a barker. She’s independent. Her ideal day would be relaxing on the couch next to you -you’ll need to help her up as she is not a jumper either.
Buttercup is easy to manage. She gets along with other dogs and cats. She is crate trained. She is also house trained as long as you stick to a consistent schedule, otherwise she’ll have an accident. She knows how to use a doggy doorbell and will nudge it with her nose to let you know she has to go out. She will also wear a diaper as long as you put it on while she is up and about.
She’s great on a leash but is slow and doesn't like walks. She would rather relax by your side. She doesn’t care for toys but she loves blankets and bunching them up. She also loves to mix up where she sleeps and changes her spot every night.
She is on a special diet of salmon and rice for her sensitive skin. She waits patiently for her food and even lets other dogs take their turn first. Buttercup likes treats and dental sticks.

CAMO Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that offers life, health, and a forever home. We specialize in dogs that other rescues can’t or won’t take due to fearful nature or medical needs. We primarily rescue ‘euthanasia listed’ animals that are in immediate danger of death.
