Monica is a gentle, shy, and beautiful cat who is still learning to trust the world — but her heart is so ready to love. She startles easily, yet she desperately wants connection, and she’s already showing how much she craves being close to her people.
Purrs for everything: when she’s excited to see you, when she wants pets, when she’s cozy in a nap — her purr motor is always running.
Talkative companion: Monica chirps and meows often, especially if you call back to her. She seems to enjoy the “conversations” and wants to be the one who chooses when to approach.
Bedtime snuggler: She loves curling up in bed with you while you read or sleep, and especially likes tucking herself into the nook between your legs if you’re stretched out.
Gentle but particular: She adores chin and ear rubs, especially if your hand comes from below her head so she feels safe. Sometimes she enjoys a scratch at the base of her back, but if she feels overstimulated she’ll give a harmless little “pow pow pow” with her paws — then immediately go back to purring and rubbing on your hand for more.
Treat motivated: Crunchy treats are the quickest way to earn her trust and affection.
Monica wants a forever home with someone patient and kind, who will let her set the pace as she grows more confident. In return, she’ll be a loyal, vocal, and cuddly companion who fills your days with gentle purrs, soft chirps, and quiet love.
Born August 2023.

Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes that every pet should find a wonderful, caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask that you fill out an adoption application form so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application we receive and will contact you as quickly as possible. A home visit will be scheduled before any pet is adopted to a new home. Once a home visit has taken place and the adoption application has been approved, we will ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement form. Our adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter, veterinary exams, vaccinations, microchipping, and foster care. Highly requested breeds help cover the vet costs incurred by some of our other cats, enabling us to save more lives!
If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application here . We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process!
Please email cats@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can not accept calls at this time.
PLEASE NOTE: The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter. Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets. Here is some interesting info on breed identification: https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/
Our adoption process is:
1. Fill out our Adoption Application online. We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet.
2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting. Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
