My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Peanut and Buttercup are a bonded pair of 6 year-old lovebugs looking for a forever home.

Peanut is a snuggle expert with a calm, affectionate nature. He’s been diagnosed with chronic anemia, so he prefers a laid-back lifestyle filled with cozy naps and lap time. Peanut doesn’t squat when he pees, so he misses the litter box. However, the proper top entry litter box should set him up for success.

Buttercup, his best friend, is shy at first but incredibly sweet once she feels safe. While she may take a little time to warm up, the reward is a devoted companion who’s always nearby often curled up close to Peanut.

They’re looking for a quiet home without children or other pets where they can stay together, relax in comfort, and be cherished for the special pair they are. Their bond is undeniable, and they bring out the best in each other while offering comfort, confidence, and companionship every day.

It’s been an absolute pleasure to foster them. They’ve truly captured my heart and I know they’ll do the same for you.

If you’re hoping to share your home with two loving, loyal companions, Peanut and Buttercup might be just the pair for you.

More about this shelter

Citizens For Animal Protection, founded in 1972, is committed to sheltering, rescuing, and placing homeless animals in loving homes; advocating respect and compassion for all animal life; providing humane education to prevent animal cruelty; and raising awareness in the community of the needs of animals.

CAP is proud to announce that through life-saving adoption and transfer programs and a lot of hard work, we have maintained a placement rate of over 93% for all homeless pets surrendered to our shelter in 2021. In 2021, CAP provided care for 10,260 animals; this includes animals surrendered by the public and transferred in from animal control agencies and rescue groups, animals already in the shelter and foster care program, feral cats trapped/neutered/returned and animals receiving vaccinations and other treatments in our low-cost vaccination clinic, The Cornelius Clinic.
