My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi my name is Raya and I decided to come on SAPA Love is Blind because I am ready to settle down and have a family of my own. I want someone who will accept me and choose me every single day. To appreciate the amount of love I like to give through kisses plus cuddles. I am a loyal girl hands down and want that fairy tail ending of finding someone to love me the way I deserve. The last person I loved broke my heart and left me on the streets when I became sick. I had this excruciating pain in my stomach and I couldn’t eat nor did I want to with how sick I felt. The one person I thought would care for me, left me with no regard to my life but that’s when I found SAPA. They took me in with open arms, didn’t once judge me for who I am and how I was reacting, all they did was love me and care for me. They discovered I had an illness called Parvo, they were very concerned but worked day in and day out to help me. It was amazing, I didn’t even know these people but they loved me like I was one of their owns. I fought my illness for days and got better and stronger each day. Eventually I completely fought my illness and was taken into my foster home. I was so excited, anxious and overall scared to get hurt again. After a few weeks, I began to get comfortable with my foster mom and my brother. I get along with adults and children and other dogs but some dogs I need to slowly get to know them. I would describe myself as an extrovert, slight dominant, potty trained, crate trained and I walk well on a leash. I do not like to share food but I can share water with anyone. I am not a huge talker but I am nosy so I’ll let you know when I hear something or see someone because like we gotta talk about it. My sign is a Sagittarius ♐️ and my love language is quality time for sure. As much as I want to stay with my foster mom, I know I can’t. My fairy ending is to find the person I can spend the rest of my life with and finally be apart of my own family.

More about this rescue

Our mission is to provide the programs and services needed to eliminate the killing of at-risk animals due to lack of space, adopter or foster.

San Antonio Pets Alive! is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Due to alarming euthanasia rates, San Antonio Pets Alive! (SAPA!) was founded in 2012. SAPA! is unique—it is the only high paced, high-volume rescue in San Antonio, saving 6,000 at-risk cats and dogs annually.

Since its inception, SAPA! has saved more than 47,000 dogs and cats. SAPA! provides safety nets for the dogs and cats that fall through the cracks of all other lifesaving options and end up on the euthanasia lists, often with just hours to be saved. SAPA! promotes the availability of these dogs and cats to other rescues, adopters and fosters.
