My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Carl!

This rough and tumble rogue with a wild past is finally ready to settle down into a calm and quiet home. Carl is a 31 flavors mixed breed with an estimated birthday 01/01/2022 and an infamous history. He was the "lead male" of a group of dogs who appeared one day some number of years ago near the Sawmill in White Bluff. Carl and his companions spent season after season fending for their own in the elements, being fed off and on by the residents of the area. Carl was a casanova in his life in the great outdoors, he never had a shortage of girlfriends, and as a result lots of puppies. Although this handsome boy won't be fathering any more little ones, he still loves taking a spin in the shelter's social circle to ensure he still has a crew of friends wherever he goes. If he had it his way, Carl would go out to playgroups each and every day to socialize and bask in the sunshine with a rotating cast of other dogs. Carl is pleasantly neutral about cats, too. We think he would do best in a home with kids over 8 years. Since Carl was a Roaming Tom for so many years, he can be a little shy meeting new people, but this guy has been doing fantastic once he is familiar with a face and won't shy away from treats and affection.

Carl is fully vetted and microchipped. Due to his history as a semi-feral dog, Carl is considered a flight risk, and his potential home requires a fully fenced in yard.
