Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Blackbird, what an odd name. But, it is my name. My caretakers named me after the bird as well as The Beatles song, “Blackbird” due to its significance. Blackbirds symbolize freedom, and the song speaks in terms of resilience: both qualities that I have experienced in the past couple of months. You see, I was found in a home with 12 other cats! After our owner passed away, we were all left alone, to fend for ourselves. That was until Kitty Save swooped in and worked with another rescue to get me and my friend, Raven, out! Let’s just say, we were very, very lucky! It has been quite a change, and adjusting to this new environment at The Charming Cat Corner has been a bit rough, but I am gradually showing my wonderful nature. I am slowly healing my broken wings, and flying higher than I have before.
I bring up my past because it explains my personality. I am a shy boy for sure. Sometimes this causes cats to become overlooked by potential adopters, I understand that and I am slowly working around it. My caretakers are seeing my “sweet spots”, the ones that bring out the real me. One of those is when I am held in their arms or on their lap. Getting belly rubs and back scratches is even better. Even though I can be shy, I always make sure to show my caretakers that I am very sweet; nudging my head into their hands is one way that I do this. I really am a sweet boy, It will just take patience to see my beautiful personality shine through.
I think I am ready for a new start. One in a new home, with a new family. I have been waiting, and I really think it is time for me to fly. Maybe you can help me fly higher than the stars! I really hope you don’t pass me by, because I am pretty sure that I was meant to be yours and you were meant to be mine!
