Bella is a 10-year-old Cavalier mix who is currently on a weight loss journey. When she first arrived, she weighed 34 pounds, but she has already lost some weight and is down to 29 pounds. Though she still has a way to go, Bella recently started thyroid medication for hypothyroid. This should help with her weight loss. Bella’s previous owner passed away, and the family turned her into a shelter. The shelter staff reached out to Misfits Dog Rescue due to Bella’s obesity, and we are committed to helping her continue her transformation.
Bella is a true people dog and thrives on human affection. While she’s not particularly interested in other dogs, she would love to be the only dog in the home or perhaps have just one sibling. She is looking for a home where her new family will continue with her weight loss progress. The good news is that Bella enjoys physical activity—she loves chasing after a ball and going for walks, which makes her a great companion for someone who enjoys being active. Bella would do well in a quiet, adult household, though she can also get along with children. A yard would be a nice bonus, but it's not a requirement.
Bella travels well and enjoys going on rides. She has already been spayed, and while she had some mammary tumors, they have been removed.
