My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, my name is Rex. I came to the rescue with Olivia. No one knows where we came from or why we were on the rural stretch of highway. But what is known is that a very kind-hearted widow came home when we were spotted. Our rescuer stopped on the shoulder of the highway, opened the back hatch on her car, opened the crate door in her car, then told us to "load up". So, we did. We were blessed to have a rescue lady get us. We love her.

Today, we are ready to be adopted. We are not a bonded pair and are happy to be your home's only dog.

I, Rex, am just the happiest boy. I love life, have tons of energy, and adore people. I would be great for hiking, camping with a running buddy, or going to the beach for a day to play on the shoreline. I am a car rider, dog social, and love humans.

I am ready to come home. I am ready for the next chapter of my life with YOU. Please request an application from alittlelonger2home@gmail.com.

More about this rescue

My name is Carla Carlton. We (my husband and I) are retired militay. He served in the Air Force for 25 years. We have always done community service. So, when we got ready to retire, we found a place we wanted to live and bought a home. Well, the town we lived in has/had a high kill shelter. This broke our hearts.
Around this same time, I met a lady who fostered for Friends of Homeless Animals, RI. One day I got a call from FOHA there was a poodle in our shelter and he was on the short list. I went and pulled him. Roie (FOHA), helped set me up to foster and list our orphans to adopt with families who really wanted them. I am not sure how long ago it was, 16-18 years, I think. The rest is history. Through them and Mountain Pet Rescue, CO (and a few others in CO, UT, IA, IL, OR, CA, MS...), we have placed over 2500 dogs/ puppies and cats.
